Morgan Sickinger MMA Tournament Finalist
[Updated 06.22.10] The featherweight bout between Morgan Sickinger and Ken Sitsler almost guaranteed an exciting submission. And after looking to pass guard for a few minutes, Sickinger (Fox Valley Grappling Club) provided the fans with the USCS Submission of the Night.
With the first round nearing a close, ���Captain��� Morgan transitioned into side control and was able to cinch in Americana with his legs, that according Sitsler ���popped my elbow out���. Sickinger now finds himself in the tournament finals.
Jordan Schauer New WFC Champion
[Updated 06.22.10] On Saturday, May 15th Jordan Schauer defeated John Duch to become the Wisconsin Fighting Championships 125lbs Title Holder. The match was exciting from start to finish and saw Jordan win in convincing fashion. Congrats to Jordan from all of Team FVGC!
New Summer Hours for the Club
[Updated 04.14.10] We suppose technically it's spring, but despite that minor detail we've now released the summer schedule. Please refer to the schedule page for a current listing of classes. The biggest change is that we now offer live grappling "sparring" sessions three days a week instead of one, and are requiring a uniform "gi" during more of the grappling classes. If you want to improve your grappling, even for MMA, it's done best in a gi. Don't believe me, look at the history of most top MMA ground fighters today and see how many of them started and still train in a gi.
